shabbat shalom

Steady as she goes today. Looks like we won’t be going home until at least Monday, but the wheels are turning in that direction.  Hospital bed for the house prescribed,  PT and OT in line, etc. but we still have an I.V. line to shed.

God bless Adrienne who helped Kirby with a much over due evening shower (tomorrow visitors owe Adrienne big time for this).

Tonight we had a little Shabbat celebration in Kirby’s room. Six of us blessed (off key)  Pearl’s most amazing and delicious round challah, then feasted on it with honey and also ate apple with honey.  Kirby kept coming back for more.  Big smiles, a good time was had by all, then she crashed and was out like a light for about an hour.

Kirby’s mornings start out pretty slow. Late afternoon seems to be prime time.  Last night, also had a pretty strong finish after 11:00 when she started to watch a movie.

Her main Dr. came by tonight, while she was in la la land.  He has been consulting with other Drs. around the country (thank you Eric and Judith) who have experience with this type of cancer.  Also continuing to get more on pathology from NIH, Hopkins and others.  Judith’s most amazing net is cast.

Community, mind, body, spirit and medicine all working on the same team and the cranes keep coming.
