more good days, revised and thank you

Kirby has enjoyed some very good days and nights. She spent all day Wednesday beading with Judith and her cousin. She is building her strength for her next chemo, which will be on Monday.

Kirby and Judith have selected a new Dr. to be Kirby’s primary Dr. and manage her continuing care.  We are very happy with the new Dr., he communicates well, appreciates all of Judith’s efforts and has had a successful treatment a similar type of cancer i.e. a living patient. He is located at GW which is more geographically desirable for us. One of the first changes he made in Kirby’s treatment program is that her next chemo will be done in one day, 6 hours of drip drip, as an outpatient, not one week back in the hospital.

Owen has come home to help, taking a sabbatical from this work session. On the way from Vermont he picked up Kirby’s Jewelry supplies and other essentials (a Volvo and half’s worth, carefully packed up by her NY buds).  Aunt Jean, a tremendous help, what would have we done without her, is headed out on Sat for R&R, a long time ago planned trip, but will be back in November.  Put your oxygen mask on first, so you can help the person next to you.

Kirby’s days are full of healing activities. Her treatment includes medical a whole regiment of pills, – physical therapy – exercises three times a day; rest; nutrition – eating well; chiropractic, which is known to help build immune systems, healing touch – see  ;  Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy – see ; magical thinking, the cranes, which are everywhere reminding us of your love (we are way past 1000 and still going strong); and prayer.

I believe that central to Kirby’s recent good days is being at home and the tremendous support, and good energy that she receives from you all.  She is planning and looking forward to more good days. Thank you all, thank you all.

p.s. There are gifts and cards that are opened and  unopened and read and still to be read.  Thank you notes is not something that Kirby is looking forward to, so please accept this global thank you to each and every one of you for everything.
